Saanich Cycling Festival this Sunday!!

The Saanich Cycling Festival is happening this Sunday! This is a wonderful community cycling event, featuring a police-escorted ride. (The route is from UVIC, down Cedar Hill, up Shelbourne, down Mckenzie and back to Uvic, map here.

Last year’s ride brought out over one thousand cyclists of all ages! This will be fun! The ride departs at 10am, returning at 11am.

After the ride, the festival begins! There will be stage performers, bike demonstrations, games and food vendors. Saanich will also have information displays on the ongoing Shelbourne Corridor project, a planning initiative to create a balanced transportation corridor that accommodates walking, cycling, transit and private vehicles on Shelbourne Street.

Last year’s ride and festival was a major success. It demonstrates our community’s passion for community and cycling.
