Libraries are the hearts of many communities, and I know how much people in Saanich South value the good work the Greater Victoria libraries do, and the free services they offer.

Libraries connect you to resources you need and foster lifelong learning. That’s why on Friday, March 31, 2023, the Province announced additional funding for libraries throughout the province.
All 71 public libraries in B.C. and the organizations that support them are receiving a total of $45 million in one-time grants in addition to annual funding they receive. Learn more here:
This includes $1,292,047.17 for the Greater Victoria Libraries in your community! This means libraries will be able to expand some of their key services, modernize technology, as well as add to their collections.
People are utilizing libraries more and more, and I want to ensure they can keep up with the needs of Saanich South. We also learned during the pandemic the importance of digital resources and collections for libraries to make it more accessible for everyone.
When people have access to resources and information, they have more opportunities to thrive.
If you have any Saanich South questions or concerns, or need assistance in my constituency, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help. The constituency office can be reached at 250.479.4154 or email me at Lana.Popham.MLA@leg.bc.ca.
Sincerely,

MLA Lana Popham

Eby's First 50 Days

Did you know that we’ve passed the halfway mark of Premier Eby’s first 100 days in office? Here’s what he's already accomplished:

✅ The new Affordability Credit has now arrived in people’s bank accounts,

✅ Childcare costs were reduced by as much as $550 per child/month,

✅ ICBC rates have been frozen for the next 2 years and BC Hydro customers received a $100 bill credit,

✅ New legislation to increase housing supply and end unfair rental restrictions was passed, and

✅ A new deal with doctors and plans for a new medical school were announced to help strengthen our healthcare system.

What do you think so far? I'm excited to return to the Legislature for Budget 2023 and to continue working hard for British Columbians
.

Sincerely,
