Property Assessment Q&A Tomorrow!

Mr. Danakody, a man with answers!
There have been many recent changes to the rules around how property is assessed in British Columbia.

Sometimes, between kids and pets, bills and appointments, and the thousands of other details that occupy our daily lives, an changes to something like property tax assessment can pass by unnoticed.

But the changes are important. For example, did you know that residential property was assessed at the 2007 rate for 2009? Or that land with split classification in the Agricultural Land Reserve will no longer be taxed at two separate rates? Or that small farms now only need to produce $3,500 in annual revenue to receive agricultural status?

With so many questions out there, I’m pleased to welcome BC Assessment’s Reuben Danakody to Saanich South for a community forum and Q&A. He will give a summary of some of the changes and is happy to answer your questions.

Tuesday, November the 30th, 7:30pm – 9:00pm (Map below)

Salvation Army Citadel, 4030 Douglas Street.

The event is free and open to all. We'll have tea and cookies too!

Hope to see you there, Lana.

PS. This is the latest in a series of free forums organized by my community office. If there is a topic you would like covered, please let me know! lana.popham.mla@leg.bc.ca
